Allan Heinberg and Olivier Coipel in Uncanny X-Men

Sneak a peek at the UNCANNY X-MEN #526 backup story by AVENGERS: CHILDREN’S CRUSADE creators Heinberg and Coipel

If the fallout from “Second Coming” wasn’t enough to make you buy UNCANNY X-MEN #526, then how about a bonus story by two of the best talents in the industry? Allan Heinberg may be the busiest man in the world, splitting his time between television (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and comics (AVENGERS: CHILDREN’S CRUSADE, YOUNG AVENGERS) but he couldn’t pass up an opportunity to write Cyclops, Magneto and Wolverine.

What does Magneto learn that sends him down a path that the rest of the world would rather he just stay away? And what does it mean to his relationship with the X-Men? Oh, and did we mention that the artist of Marvel’s SIEGE event was drawing it? OLIVIER COIPEL’s first sequential work since illustrating the Sentry’s death and the new formation of the Avengers is in UNCANNY #526.

Avengers: The Children’s Crusade, a nine-issue mini-series starting in July, is the story of the search for Scarlet Witch, the heroine who has virtually disappeared since going insane and stirring up all kinds of trouble in the Marvel events Avengers: Disassembled and House of M.

The Young Avengers, Avengers, Magneto and several other surprise characters will begin a race to be the ones that find her first. This is the premise behind “Avengers: The Children’s Crusade,” a nine issue, bi-monthly miniseries from the same creative team who first introduced the Young Avengers to the world, writer Allan Heinberg and artist Jim Cheung and announced at the Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo.

The Savage She-Hulk is a total wild card. You may think she has nothing to do with the X-Men, but if history proves anything, Hulks are unpredictable. Marvel has promised more information at the X-Men panel at the inaugural C2E2 expo on Sunday, April 18.at 2:45pm.
